Finding wax in the keyhole of your door could be a warning.

After discovering red wax in the keyhole of her front door, a user on the internet realized she might have been targeted by someone with harmful intentions. She has since warned others to be cautious.

About a year ago, a Reddit user posted a picture of her lock, which had red wax oozing from the keyhole, seeking advice and support from the online community.

“I don’t have anything on my key that could cause this, but I did notice some wax on the tip after I took the key out this morning,” the user explained. “I’m a bit worried that someone might have tampered with my lock last night.”

The online community quickly filled the comments with their thoughts and suggestions.
